Mold Remediation/ SanitizationPrior to either the mold sanitization or mold remediation process, it is important that the water or moisture source contributing to the mold growth be found and repaired. What’s the difference between Mold Sanitization & Mold Remediation?Mold sanitization typically occurs when high sustained relative humidity has resulted in surface mold growth. The licensed professional can sanitize contaminated areas without removing them. Mold remediation requires removing contaminated building materials. This is usually required when mold has resulted from a water leak. It is important to remember one cannot simply tear out the contaminated materials without taking the proper precautions. Mold can easily spread from contaminated materials to previously uncontaminated areas. A licensed Mold Remediator is familiar with and should follow industry standards to prevent cross-contamination. After materials are removed, the Mold Remediator will sanitize the remaining building substrate following industry guidelines. Mold RemediationExactly what is mold remediation?Remediation: “The act of removing damaged construction materials when said materials are irretrievable or not salvageable. Remediation is done with precaution due to health concerns for the occupants and the Remediator who is doing the work.” So, what does that mean to me? We take this very serious problem and correct it. By using nationally recognized guidelines and protocols for removal, we ensure no cross contamination issues, safety of occupants and our workers, no duplication of costs to you, and as little inconvenience as possible. Mold SanitizationExactly what is mold sanitization?Sanitization: “Reduction of the microbial population on an inanimate object to levels judged safe by public health standards; usually, the object is cleaned with an antimicrobial.” In regards to IAQ (Indoor Air Quality) Mold problems, sanitization involves solving an environmental problem using techniques which are natural and environmentally friendly instead of adding to the problem by introducing toxic chemicals. Many people who suffer with indoor air quality issues are allergic to the chemicals which many companies suggest as a solution. ESG supports the protection of the environment and the health of the occupants by recommending and providing solutions which are natural and holistic. So what does all of that mean to me? Often, in an indoor environment, mold contamination and or water damage, has not reached a level of destruction of construction materials. What is commonly referred to as “surface mold” has been caused by high moisture content in the air. Mold spores have found the moisture needed to grow, not within the surfaces, as in a water leak, but from the air itself. ONE call, we handle it ALL!Contact & Request More Information
