Helpful Tips for Choosing a Mold Remediator
Before hiring someone to "fix" your mold problem, we would like for you to consider the following facts.
Mold Remediation is a very serious procedure with many ramifications concerning your health and property investment. Anyone can remove mold, but it takes a
Florida licensed and certified mold remediation professional to do it right. If remediation is not correctly implemented according to nationally
recognized guidelines, not only serious health conditions may arise, but the process may necessitate starting over with a duplication of cost and inconvenience.
That is why we develop a mold remediation protocol specific to your needs, ensuring your problem is corrected safely, quickly and effectively.
When Choosing a Mold Remediator, Require a Copy of:
- Current State of Florida Mold Remediator License
- Current County Business Tax Receipt (Occupational License) stating they are a Mold Remediator
- Certificate from a national certifying agency such as NORMI (National Organization of Remediators and Mold Inspectors) stating they are a current certified Mold Remediator and Biocide Applicator
- Additional certifications, such as Indoor Air Quality Specialist and Mold Assessor (provide assurance the remediation process includes every indoor air quality issue which may be presented)
- Certified hours of indoor air quality continuing education completed in the last 12 months
- 3 types of insurance currently in force:
- a) Commercial General Liability
- b) Professional Liability
- c) Contractor's Pollution Liability (mold specific insurance) without this specific coverage, there is no mold coverage.
General liability insurance will NOT cover mold remediation.

Good Questions to ask:
- Will a Licensed Mold Remediator be on the job site the entire time?
Florida law requires all workers have direct supervision by a Florida
licensed Mold Remediator.
- Are all additional on site personnel certified at a minimum level of Indoor Air Quality Specialists?
- Will a surface protectant be applied to all remediated areas?
- Is a NORMI Certificate of Sanitization available?
This valuable document verifies the correct remediation protocol was utilized and the
indoor air quality has returned to an expected normal state.
If you have insurance coverage for mold remediation/water damage services, it is our company policy to work directly with your insurance adjustor and work out a scope of service and wait for payment.
